Kyūri Yamada, creator of AI no Idenshi, has launched a new manga titled Nanabun no Survivor (The One-Seventh Survivor). Kodansha's Comic Days platform announced that the series began on Monday, while its serialization on Kodansha's YanMaga Web platform is scheduled to start on November 16.
The story centers on Naoya, a high school student who considers himself "useless" because he struggles with everyday tasks that seem easy for other people. While discussing his difficulties with a friend in Shibuya, a catastrophic earthquake strikes and suddenly disrupts his already challenging life.
Yamada began publishing AI no Idenshi in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion in November 2015 and concluded the manga in August 2017. Akita Shoten released the series in eight collected volumes, and Orange Inc.'s English-language e-bookstore service emaqi publishes it in English.
AI no Idenshi received a television anime adaptation in July 2023. The manga also produced the five-volume sequel AI no Idenshi RED QUEEN, which ran from 2017 to 2019, and the second sequel AI no Idenshi Blue Age, serialized from July 2020 until October 2024.
