November 1 is Dog Day in Japan, a date tied to wordplay in which the number one can sound like a dog's bark, "wan." Anime News Network's November 2 roundup gathered greetings from anime and manga accounts that marked the 2026 edition with character art, promotions and dog-themed messages.
The Shiba Inu Rooms account used the day to point fans to the series' newly opened TV anime official website and its anime adaptation announcement promotional video, which shows Kōri and Mū. The account also noted that 20 chapters are available for free on Jump+ and that the anime is scheduled to air in summer 2027; visitors to the site can interact with Mū. Happy Kanako's Killer Life's anime account shared a Dalmatian pun using the Japanese word "dame" (no good), offered a smartphone wallpaper calendar, and reminded followers that the series premieres in April 2027. The Sakamoto Days TV anime account, promoting its second season in January 2027, posted a dog-friendly message.
Other posts in the roundup included Digimon UP asking fans which Digimon they associate with dogs, Gonzo citing Dog & Scissors, Kadokawa PR sharing four dog-related stories and inviting fans' own anecdotes, and the mofusand anime account pointing to episode 37 and Dr. Shiba-wan. Ocha-ken joked that its Ocha-cats had become dogs, Project Sekai posted a cuddle-time message, and SNK Japan introduced Poppy, Galford's dog. Manga creator Ami Shibata mentioned Chappy, the Tama Friends account discussed Pochi's okara-and-rice meal and Showa-era dog food, and illustrator Hitoshi Yoneda posted artwork for the occasion. The Momose Akira no Hatsukoi Hatanchū official account also posted a simple Dog Day message. The roundup closed by inviting readers to share any Dog Day greetings it had missed.
