Callum Turner has reportedly been cast as the next James Bond for Amazon MGM Studios and director Denis Villeneuve’s untitled Bond 26. Turner had been widely viewed as a leading candidate for the role, and a new report suggests the search for 007 may be over.

Showbiz411’s Roger Friedman, who previously reported Daniel Craig’s casting more than 20 years ago, said he had heard that Turner would take over the role. The report has not been presented as an official announcement from Amazon MGM Studios.

The casting speculation follows Turner’s departure as a director of Twentytwo Films, the production company he founded with his wife, Dua Lipa. World of Reel noted that British tabloids have interpreted the move as a possible indication that Turner is making room in his schedule for Bond 26, particularly since Amazon is expected to want an actor fully committed to the franchise.

Further details about Turner’s reported casting and the next Bond film have not yet been provided.
