Norihiro Yagi, the creator of Claymore, launched his new manga Bartlet Fairy Basslet on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service on November 2. The publisher is scheduled to release the second chapter on November 9.
MANGA Plus began publishing the series in English on its launch day, while Viz Media’s Shonen Jump service is also carrying the manga. MANGA Plus describes the story as following Knight-Captain and Princess Brunhilde after she defeats her nemesis and witnesses a mysterious shining fish falling from the sky. The platform presents the title as a new hack-and-slash fantasy epic from the creator of Claymore.
Yagi debuted Claymore in 2001 and concluded the manga in 2014. Viz Media published its 27 volumes in North America. The series also received a television anime adaptation in 2007, later released on home video by Funimation.
Before Claymore, Yagi created Angel Densetsu, which ran from 1993 to 2000 and was collected in 15 volumes by Shueisha. That manga inspired an original video anime in 1996.
His most recent completed series, Sōkyū no Ariadne, also known as Ariadne in the Blue Sky, began in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday in December 2017 and ended in February 2023. The manga was collected in 22 volumes.
