RGG Studio, the development team behind the Like a Dragon franchise formerly known as Yakuza, announced on Friday that its iconic series has arrived on the popular game creation system Roblox. The new licensed title, named Yakuza Blocks: Like a Dragon, encourages players to gather their crews and answer the call of Kamurocho. According to the studio's description, users can now explore the fictional district, engage in combat, and rise through the ranks together within the blocky game environment.

The Like a Dragon series was originally created by Toshihiro Nagoshi in 2005 for the PlayStation 2. The franchise centers on protagonist Kazuma Kiryū, a low-ranking Yakuza member operating in Kamurocho, a fictional location based on Tokyo's Kabukicho district. Over the years, the series has expanded to include nine mainline entries and various spin-off titles.

This Roblox expansion follows other recent developments for the franchise. Last February, RGG Studio released Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties as a single package across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Looking ahead, the studio's upcoming title Stranger Than Heaven, previously codenamed Project Century, is scheduled to launch on January 15 for Xbox X|S, PS5, and PC, with availability through Game Pass.

The brand has also seen significant growth in live-action adaptations. The crossover project Ryū ga Gotoku Powered By Nihon Tōitsu debuted in Japan on Amazon Prime Video on February 10, featuring three episodes that are now streaming with English subtitles on Sega's YouTube channel. Additionally, the live-action series Like a Dragon: Yakuza (Ryū ga Gotoku ~Beyond the Game~) began its run on Amazon Prime Video in October 2024.
