The editorial department of Akaneshinsha's Opera magazine has officially announced via X that the publication will transition to a digital-only format. This change follows the release of the magazine's 100th and final print issue, which was shipped on Friday, October 30. The first issue available exclusively in digital form is scheduled to launch in spring 2027.
The commemorative 100th edition serves as a retrospective on the magazine's history, featuring contributions from 40 past creators who illustrated potential futures for their respective characters. To celebrate this milestone, a special exhibition dedicated to the 100th issue will take place in Tokyo, running from December 26 through January 24.
Since its launch in December 2005, Opera has been home to several notable series. Prominent titles published within its pages include Asumiko Nakamura's Classmates, as well as Syundei's Go for It, Nakamura! and its sequel, Go for It Again, Nakamura!
