Pierce Brosnan, who portrayed James Bond in four films, has offered his endorsement of Callum Turner following reports that the young actor will take on the iconic role for Amazon MGM Studios. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Brosnan discussed the finalists for the upcoming Bond 26, noting that while he admires all the candidates, Turner stands out as his preferred choice.

Brosnan highlighted his professional history with Turner, having previously co-starred with him in the 2017 film The Only Living Boy in New York. During the interview, which appears to have taken place before the casting rumors were confirmed, Brosnan stated that all the men on the list possess a voice, physique, and screen presence with longevity. He specifically singled out Turner, remarking that he has worked with him and describing the actor as very strong.

Although Amazon MGM Studios has not officially announced the casting for Bond 26, industry insider Roger Friedman, known for breaking the news of Daniel Craig's casting in Casino Royale over two decades ago, reports that Turner has secured the role. Turner had been considered a frontrunner for some time and reportedly tested alongside other actors including Lowden and O'Connor at the end of October.

If confirmed, this casting would mark a significant milestone in Turner's career, which has seen steady growth since his supporting role as Theseus Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts series. His recent leading credits include headlining The Boys in the Boat in 2023 and co-leading the Steven Spielberg-produced Masters of the Air with Austin Butler in 2024. Most recently, he starred in Eternity alongside Miles Teller and Elizabeth Olsen, as well as One Night Only with Monica Barbaro.
