Red Dead Redemption 2 players have a few days left to claim a batch of free in-game content, with the current round of Red Dead Online events running until November 4 and some of them concluding as early as November 2. The Western, released in 2018, remains active even as Rockstar prepares for Grand Theft Auto VI, which is scheduled to arrive on November 19.
The centrepiece is Strange Tales of the West, a Halloween-themed event that Rockstar describes as bringing a haunting season to the frontier. Players who investigate the strange and unexplained phenomena in the mode are being paid 4X RDO$, Gold and XP throughout the month. The activity covers encounters such as shambling undead, irritable swamp folk and reported sightings of artificial life.
The All Hallows' Call to Arms mode tasks players with defending ten different seasonal maps, among them Van Horn and Bronte Mansion, and pays Triple Rewards to those who take part. Anyone who plays all ten maps before November 2 will receive the Benbow Jacket. Reaching Wave 5 on any map grants the Rowberrow Outfit and the Air Banjo Emote, while reaching Wave 10 earns the Beat Chest Emote and a Gold Bar. Because that portion of the event is nearly over, players interested in the rewards will need to move quickly.
Four Telegram Missions are also paying out 4X RDO$, Gold and XP through November 2. To access them, players can collect author Theodore Levin's letter from any Post Office or from their Camp's Lockbox and open it in their Satchel, or alternatively launch Telegram Missions directly from the Player Menu.
Separately, Naturalists who log in before November 4 will receive an Irontooth Mask, and sampling or hunting a Legendary Animal will earn them the Best Shot Emote. The free content arrives as Rockstar's attention shifts toward GTA VI, and the studio is expected to reveal further free in-game content for Red Dead Redemption 2 once this event concludes.
