Syfy has built a long-running reputation for science fiction, but its original scripted lineup has narrowed to a single series: The Ark. The change follows the cancellation of Revival, which ran for one season and 10 episodes before being dropped in October 2026.

The Ark premiered in 2023 and follows the crew of the Ark One, a spacecraft sent to assess whether Proxima Centauri B could support colonization. The story is set 100 years in the future, when Earth is no longer habitable and the mission represents the last hope for those left behind.

Midway through the journey, an accident kills the senior crew and destroys much of the ship’s supplies. The remaining crew must contend with dwindling resources and the challenge of continuing the mission without experienced officers. The series has aired three seasons, and no decision on its future has been announced. Its third-season ending provides some closure while leaving room for the story to continue.

The cancellation of Revival also removed a recent adaptation of the comic by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton from Syfy’s lineup. The supernatural series, set in a rural Wisconsin town where the dead return to life, concluded its story after one season. It has a 90% Rotten Tomatoes score, according to the supplied report, but the show’s low viewership and limited promotion were cited as reasons for its cancellation.

Syfy’s past original series include Stargate SG-1, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, The Expanse, Eureka, The Magicians and Warehouse 13. With The Ark now the network’s sole original scripted series, the channel’s current lineup stands in sharp contrast to that history. The series’ unresolved future leaves its original programming slate dependent on what Syfy chooses to develop next.
