Pull orders are now open for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once a Ranger, the second collected edition of BOOM! Studios’ ongoing Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. Published by Penguin Random House, the trade paperback will collect issues five through eight, including three issues that have not yet been released in stores.

The collection’s solicitation reveals that the story takes place ten years after Jason, Zack, Trini, Kimberly, Billy, and Tommy went their separate ways. When the former team members reunite to face Rita Rabiosa, Tommy is notably absent after failing to respond to Billy’s call.

Tommy eventually returns on a dark, rainy night, but he brings a mystery with him. The story will explore why he ignored his friends and what the mysterious power he now possesses might be. The other Rangers are also keeping secrets, giving Rita Rabiosa an opportunity to exploit the growing distrust within the team.

In the current Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series, Rita Rabiosa is a multiversal version of Rita Repulsa. After losing her child in a battle with the Power Rangers in her own universe, she travels across realities seeking revenge, forcing the original team to reunite.

Once a Ranger is one of three new BOOM! Studios titles set in different versions of the Power Rangers universe. Power Rangers Unlimited follows a team led by Trini Kwan, the Striking Tiger Unlimited Ranger, and includes characters from across the franchise’s history. Its threats include the mysterious Turbo Black Ranger, who seeks to rewrite history.

The third title, Power Rangers: Green, takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where Tommy Oliver is the last remaining Power Ranger. After the Red Censer begins terrorizing the local population, Tommy joins forces with his former enemy Goldar, who is seeking both assistance and what he hopes will be a fitting end to his story.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once a Ranger is scheduled to go on sale on July 20, 2027.
