VisionQuest has become Disney+’s No. 1 show worldwide three weeks after its debut. The Marvel Studios series has released six of its eight episodes, with the final two scheduled to arrive one per week over the next two weeks.
According to FlixPatrol, VisionQuest is ahead of its closest competitor, American Horror Story, on the streaming service’s chart.
The series follows Vision after he escapes those seeking to weaponize him and goes into hiding. Looking for a new purpose, he consults AI personas in his programming, including Friday, Edith, Jarvis and Ultron. His quiet life is disrupted by a bounty on his head, forcing him to flee with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be his reincarnated son.
Terry Matalas created and serves as showrunner on the series. Paul Bettany returns as Vision, with James Spader reprising his role as Ultron. The cast also includes Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, Emily Hampshire, James D’Arcy, Ben Crompton, T’Nia Miller, Art Malik and Mary McDonnell.
VisionQuest completes the MCU television trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. Its story returns to the family Wanda Maximoff created in WandaVision, including Billy, who appeared in Agatha All Along, and Tommy.
New episodes stream on Disney+ on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
