Sony has set December 29, 2026, as the physical release date for Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil. The film will be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD, following its recent arrival on premium video on demand (PVOD), where viewers can rent or buy the digital version.

The 4K UHD and Blu-ray editions will include an audio commentary by Cregger, who discusses the film’s production from beginning to end. Other special features cover his approach to directing the reboot, the design of its creatures and the making of a sequence that moves from storyboards to the finished scene.

The featurettes include “Game Changer: Directing Resident Evil,” about Cregger’s adaptation and work with the creative team; “Flesh and Bone: Designing the Monsters,” which explores the creatures’ creation; and “Anatomy of a Scene: From Storyboard to Splatter,” focused on the making of the Jump Street and elevator sequence.

Resident Evil follows Bryan, a medical courier played by Austin Abrams, who is caught in a fight for survival during a chaotic night. The film is currently available on PVOD, with its physical editions scheduled for December 29, 2026.
