Ash’s Pikachu has faced some of the Pokémon anime’s toughest opponents over the course of the trainer’s journey. Its victories include Legendary Pokémon, formidable League rivals and the partners of Champions, culminating in a win over Leon’s Charizard that secured Ash the World Coronation Series title.

Among Pikachu’s early standout wins was its defeat of Drake’s Dragonite in the Orange League final. Dragonite had already beaten three of Ash’s Pokémon, but Pikachu evaded a Hyper Beam and struck back with Thunder to end its run. The victory earned Ash the Orange League Winner’s Trophy.

Pikachu also helped Ash conquer the Battle Frontier by defeating Brandon’s Regice. The Legendary Pokémon froze Pikachu with Ice Beam, but Pikachu recovered and turned the fight around with Iron Tail and Volt Tackle. Its final attack landed as Regice attempted to use Rest, earning Ash the Brave Symbol.

During the Kalos journey, Pikachu overcame Korrina’s Mega Lucario in a Gym battle, using a decisive Thunderbolt to win Ash the Rumble Badge. At the Kalos League finals, Pikachu also defeated Alain’s Tyranitar and Metagross, overcoming the latter after a difficult exchange.

In the Alola League final, Pikachu beat Gladion’s Silvally through speed and a carefully timed strategy. Ash used Electro Web to propel Pikachu’s Iron Tail, catching Silvally off guard. Pikachu later defeated Tapu Koko in a battle between Z-Moves, countering Guardian of Alola with 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt.

Pikachu’s victories over Champions’ Pokémon included a win against Steven’s Mega Metagross in the Masters Eight Tournament. Mega Metagross anticipated Pikachu’s moves, but Ash’s Z-Move created an opening. Pikachu redirected its attack, broke through the defenses and finished the battle with Iron Tail.

In the tournament final against Leon, Pikachu first faced Cinderace, then went on to battle Leon’s Charizard. Both Pokémon used their Gigantamax forms against each other, and their attacks collided before they returned to normal. Pikachu endured Charizard’s attacks in the final exchange and was still standing when Charizard fell, making Ash the World Coronation Series Monarch.
