Stellar Blade is making the move from PlayStation 5 to Nintendo Switch 2, and the port performs better than might be expected. According to the review, Shift Up’s adjustments allow the action game to run at a largely consistent 60 frames per second, with occasional dips to around 50 FPS.
That performance is particularly useful in a game built around fast dodges and parries. The review notes that input lag appeared in a few fights and could affect the timing of those moves. Visual compromises are also apparent, especially in character hair and some models, which can look slightly unfinished.
The Switch 2 release is described as the complete edition, including crossover DLC from NieR: Automata, Bayonetta and other series. Its combat combines parrying with stylish combos, while boss encounters stand out for requiring players to learn enemy patterns.
The review’s main criticism is the story and its characters. EVE is portrayed as reserved, and the other characters are also said to lack depth. Despite those shortcomings, the port is considered a strong fit for portable play, with performance that supports its high-intensity combat.
Stellar Blade launches on Switch 2 on November 6. It is also available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
