A live-Action film adaptation of Hajime Kōmoto’s manga “Mashle: Magic and Muscles” has named Mackenyu Maeda as its lead actor and Yūichi Fukuda as its director. The announcement came with an early teaser video and a teaser visual.

Maeda will play Mash Burnedead, a young man in a world where magic is used for everything but who cannot use magic himself. Instead, Mash relies on his heavily trained muscles as he faces threats from magic users.

Warner Brothers and Fuji TV are overseeing the project, with CREDEUS producing. TOHO will distribute the film, which is set to open in Japan on March 19, 2027.

Kōmoto’s manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from January 2020 to July 2023. Shueisha published its 18th and final collected volume in October 2023. The series has also received an anime adaptation, novels, and two stage-play adaptations.
