A live-Action film based on Hajime Kōmoto’s Mashle: Magic and Muscles manga will open in Japan on March 19, 2027, according to an early teaser visual released Wednesday. Its tagline reads, “It’s finally time for a movie adaptation, Mashle.”
Warner Brothers and Fuji TV are overseeing the project, CREDEUS is producing, and Toho will distribute the film.
The manga follows Mash Burnedead, a young man who cannot use magic in a world where it is commonplace. He lives peacefully with his father while training his body, until his life is threatened by magic users.
Mashle began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2020 and ended in July 2023. Shueisha released its 18th and final collected volume, along with a fan book, in October 2023. The manga is available digitally in English through Viz Media’s Shonen Jump service and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus, and Viz also publishes it in print.
